
It is not the weight of the load, but how we carry it, that determines the pressure it puts on us. Most of us feel that the work we do is more than we can handle and most of the time the work pressure is in the head. The mind carries that weight of the workload rather than the actual workload that we have.
That is why sometimes even when we haven’t been busy with work, we are tired at the end of the day. A day of watching Netflix and stuffing our face with snacks ends up feeling very exhausting. This is because of the guilt of unfinished work, half-baked relationships and tardy self-care that you carry in your mind. This carries over even when you sleep. That is why sometimes you even wake up in the morning feeling exhausted.
The more you carry your workload and your relationship load in your head the more exhausted you will feel. You need to step back and reflect on the weight on your head. You must understand that it is the mind that causes stress not the work. When you appreciate this, you can take steps to be present with all that is bothering you and take action to address it. That is when you will find space in your mind and lighten your load.
