Whenever we sit to meditate, we sit with an expectation. We expect that our mind will be still and calm and we will experience that elusive bliss of peace within. And then we get so entangled with thoughts and emotions that pull us to the past or future and refuses to stay in the present. And then we get disappointed, frustrated with ourselves for not being able to do such a simple task.
When your child starts standing – you don’t beat them to start walking isn’t it? You understand your child and treat them with kindness and compassion, and let them walk at their own pace, don’t you?
Some days when you expect that it would be rough, surprisingly something happens to smoothen your way. We hardly notice this. But when something unexpected happens which doesn’t suit you it hurts. So, it is good to just be in the moment and experience the moment for what it is without expecting too much.
