We need to reflect why we are sitting everyday looking at our emotions, our breath and our body and so on. What is our intention?

When we sit with ourselves trying to place our attention on our breath, what is our intention? We must remember that we are here to train. We are not here to perform. And we are NOT here to become the best breath focusser or body focusser in the world.

There is no certificate, no grades for this and we need to become comfortable that this is only for knowing yourself. And how would a certificate saying that you now know yourself better than you knew before help?

When you go to the gym, you learn a few exercises, workouts for specific functions, but if you only practise at the gym and do not make changes in your lifestyle, diet – then it is not making any impact on you.

But if you are mindful about what you eat, start walking more, include movement in your daily life you will begin to enjoy your movement.

In the same way – you start with focusing on the breath – but then the ultimate goal is to cherish the smaller things you do. To be present with your child or spouse, to be present with your emotions, to be aware that you are sad or excited and engage with the emotion mindfully and to also be present with your thoughts and be aware of thoughts that are selfish, generous or scary or happy.

When we do that we move from Mind-gul-ness to mindfulness? What is mindgulness –  It is a default state of mind where we are lost. Lost in our thoughts about the past or the future.
