One of the basic instincts of human beings is to get rest. Like getting food or staying away from danger, the body is wired to rest whenever it can. Like many mammals, we sleep when it is dark and wake when the sun rises.

Sleep is important for the conscious mind and physical body to get rest. It is the turn of the subconscious mind to work for you without your awareness.

A good 7 to 8 hours sleep is essential for your mood, physical and mental recovery. Sleep also helps in aspects of memory, learning and creativity. A good night’s sleep makes you feel refreshed and energetic in the morning.

Even a short nap of no more than 20 minutes during the day can be refreshing. Even if you are very busy, it is better to plan and use your available time productively, than burning the midnight oil.

So if you are feeling uneasy and lack energy, examine whether you are getting enough rest for your body and mind. It is a good idea to go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day. So you can tune in to your natural body clock to fall into the rhythm.
