Welcome to Day 3 of FIMM the Five-days Introduction to Meditation and Mindfulness program conducted by Bell the Mind.

Yesterday, I hope you found the time to observe your emotions and how they manifest themselves in your body and maybe gained a little understanding of your own emotion

Today, we are going to do an exercise to explore our thoughts.

We generate about 50000 to 70000 thoughts in a day. And 90% of these thoughts are repetitive. Thoughts can be useful like when you make plans for an event at home or a proposal for a project at work. But they can also be utterly useless when you worry about things in the past. ‘I should have studied more’ or when you worry about the future, ‘Will I get the job?’

And thoughts can also be destructive when they become so compulsive that instead of taking action towards your goal you let your thoughts get in the way.

So today let us take a few minutes to observe our thoughts mindfully.
